Education opens up the mental and spiritual faculties of human being and aids in forming positive attitudes for the holistic and health growth of human society. Giani Balwant Singh, a great visionary, social worker and a teacher himself, established Janta Senior Secondary School in 1957. He had a cherished dream to provide quality education to the young generation for which he wanted to setup institutions of higher education. Unfortunately his untimely demise cut short his dreams. His equally visionary son S. Dewender Singh, following the footprints of his father, a great philanthropist, established SPS Janta College in the year 2006 under the banner of G.B.S. Education Society, which was duly registered under the Firms & Societies Registration Act – 1860.The aim and objectives of this portal is to propagate the philosophy of Sant Prem Singh Jee Maharaj (Murale Wale), who advocated a spiritual and intellectual growth of men and women alike and established number of educational Institutions for this purpose. The Management of S.P.S. Janta College is striving hard to inculcate the moral values of which Sant Jee Maharaj and Giani Balwant Singh Jee the founder of the G.B.S. Education Society. Bawa Niranjan Singh Jee, a great missionary soul, contributed generously for the growth and upliftment of the College.

The aim and objectives of the society are to propagate the philosophy of Sant Prem Singh Jee Maharaj (Murale Wale), who was and embodiment of spirituality and social service. He also established educational Institutions to serve the society selflessly and teach the moral values of which Sant Jee Maharaj and Giani Balwant Singh were exponents.

This society has been granted Singh Minority status by the States Goveryment under Article 30(I) of the constitution of India. The society carries out educational social cultural and religious activities. At present the society is running G.B.S. Public School, S.P.S. JANTA College of Education, B.N.S. JANTA Institute of Mgt. Tech.(MBA) and JANTA Polytechnic(Engg. Diploma).

It was the most cherished dream of Giani Balwant Singh that is becoming reality as he always wanted that the students of this area should not only be taught at schools but should also be given higher education at their door-step in Mustafabad itself. So, SPS JANTA College is a dream come true. It is a self-financed Institution in this area, which is devoted to the cause of higher education of economical weaker section of society, scheduled castes and backward classes in general and students of Sikh Community in particular. It is running BBA, B.Com.(Computer Application), B.Com.(General) and B.A. I, II, III classes & B.Sc.(N.M.) which is introduced from the session 2013-14.

After degree level education the society thought of professional Institutes that could prepare our youth for jobs and training. SPS JANTA College of Education was estiblished in 2007 with a sole motive to train the youth to become good teachers and serve the society honestly. So, this college is running B.Ed. and D.Ed. classes. The society is also taking a leap forward and also started MBA and Polytechnic Institute that will provide another opportunity to our youth to get management and technical education. So, BNS JANTA Institute of Mgt. & Tech (MBA) was established from the year 2010-11 & Janta Polytechnic was established for the session 2011-12.

We wish to provide our students a holistic learning experience for life. Our aim is to teach students to LEARN, not just STUDY. Hence, we strive to travel beyond the boundaries of mere books. We have realized that the future is abstract and unknown but the youth in our hands are real and can be molded.
